New Residential Chiller

Daikin Europe N.V. (24/02/2006)

Another First - New R-410A inverter controlled residential chiller launched by Daikin.

den819_residential chillers.JPGA remarkable new ‘mini’ chiller, the first inverter controlled unit of its type on the market, is available from Daikin Europe N.V. Available in 5, 6 and 7kW nominal capacities, the high efficiency quiet running residential chiller unit operates on refrigerant R-410A.

Two versions are available – EWAQ (cooling only) and EWYQ (heat pump) – designed specifically for residential comfort cooling, yet well positioned for swimming pool heating or small process applications. Incorporating the latest state of the art Daikin swing compressor, brazed plate heat exchanger, 3 speed water circulating pump, expansion vessel, gauges, valves, flow switch and filter, all necessary components are fully enclosed within the compact 1174mm x 737mm x 300mm casing.

Able to supply chilled water from 4 to 20°C or hot water from 30 to 55°C at ambient temperatures between –15 to 46°C, the inverter mini-chiller has the widest operating range of units available in this segment. Ideally suited for application to residential 2 pipe fan coil units, it can also be used in conjunction with under floor heating systems.

Significant advantages are also offered in comparison to contemporary units – the high ESP water circulating pump for instance, has a 5m head (6kW model) as against the usual 2.4 to 3.6m and a useful 6 litre capacity expansion tank instead of the 1 litre norm. Also, PE coated heat exchanger fins, inclusive water pressure gauges and water filter are unique to the inverter mini-chiller. The low operating sound level of 64dBA makes it attractive for residential applications especially where sound restrictions may be imposed.

Installation of the inverter mini-chiller is both quick and easy, merely requiring connection of the power supply and plumbing into the water system.
