Daikin Europe announces new VRV® III-C for colder climates
Daikin Europe NV announces the availability of the latest in Daikin’s pioneering VRV® systems: VRV® III-C, designed especially for high efficiency heating in colder climates. Two-stage compression allows the system to obtain heating output and efficiency levels at low temperatures not possible before. A wide range of outdoor and indoor units as well as optional built-in ventilation units can be combined in numerous configurations, making VRV® III-C suitable to a broad range of commercial applications.
A solution for every application
VRV® III-C is aimed at small, medium and large-sized commercial applications in Northern Europe such as offices, hotels and stores. The line complements Daikin Europe’s other VRV® and Multi offerings for residential and commercial applications in warmer climates, allowing it to offer optimum comfort and efficiency in just about all markets and climates.
Efficient at outdoor temperatures to -25°C
At the heart of the new line is a two-stage compression system that uses multiple smaller compressors. A second outdoor unit, called a function unit, increases the pressure to levels that allow high-efficiency comfortable heat at outdoor temperatures as low as -25°C. Thus, there is no longer a need for auxiliary heating to complement the heat pump on the harshest days of winter. And the heat pump’s legendary efficiency (energy output up to 3 times primary energy consumed) is maintained even at these lower ambient temperatures. Adding to cold weather comfort are the system’s rapid heat up times – 8 minutes at -10° C – and short defrost maintenance cycles, allowing consistent and stable indoor comfort.
Efficient, quiet, trouble-free
Behind VRV® III-C’s comfort and efficiency are a range of Daikin innovations that in the meantime have become industry standards such as inverter control, as well as simple and failsafe installation and maintenance thanks to automatic refrigerant charging and testing, and optimised piping and wiring schemes. Inverter control together with the two-compressor design results in even more precise indoor temperatures and less energy-consuming compressor stops and starts. Cold-weather energy savings of up to 20% compared to conventional VRV® III models are thus possible. The optimum use of technology also results in quiet outdoor and indoor unit operation, including special night modes for super-quiet (8 dBA noise reduction) outdoor unit operation.
Installation and maintenance at peak performance are made easy by a host of Daikin features: computerised system design applications, modular installation, simplified and fail-safe wiring schemes, optimised and flexible piping, automatic refrigerant filling and maintenance, built-in diagnostics, and a range of Daikin and industry-standard individual, centralised and network control systems.
Comfort, aesthetics and quicker system payback
VRV® III-C connects to the full line of Daikin indoor units, including roundflow, 4-way blow and corner and concealed ceiling mounted units as well as stylish wall mounted units. 75 different variations of indoor models combined with VRV® III-C outdoor units from 10 to 20 HP make possible a configuration suitable for just about any commercial application.
Adding an integrated ventilation unit increases not only comfort but also efficiency through heat recovery, thereby reducing required compressor capacity and leading to a payback on investment for ventilation systems of 2.5 years in real life conditions.
